Preston Innovations Slip Elastic
Slip elastic from Preston Innovations is my choice for coolwater silvers, and frosty conditions.
Original Slip No5
This is particularly good when targeting skimmers on shallow venues, which tend to come straight to the top when you hook them. Using a soft elastic like this stops the fish from splashing on the surface which can cause hook pulls and disturb the the fish that are feeding in your peg.
Original Slip No6
The No6 slip is the number one elastic when catching quality fish such as F1s, ide and bream in frosty conditions. When fishing in the winter a problem you often get with hollow elastics is they tend to lose their elasticity. This is where a solid type elastic like the No6 original slip will outscore hollow elastics. They continue to work even in sub-zero weather conditions, and make sure you get plenty of elastic out on the strike to preserve the hook hold.
This for me is the best quality lead shot on the market. It is evenly cut which means your shots sit uniformly on the line. I use them in No8, No9, No10 and No11 and they make the main body of shot when making rigs. I then use size No12 or 13 Stotz to fine tune my rig.
Designed by Andy Bennett, these beauties are my number one choice for mudline fishing. They take 0.4g in weight, and allow you to pin your bait exactly where you want it.
Being hand made by Richie Wilson, they are also super strong and durable.
